Microwave Recipes

Isn’t this invention a bliss for warming milk and reheating food 🙂 . Ofcourse research still has to prove if it does more harm to one’s body than doing good. Do you cook some complete meals using the microwave or just use it for quick fixes. I don’t use it a whole lot for complete meals. Use it for few items like puran poli puran, cook couple of subzis sometimes, some rice (although most people use rice cooker for rice items ). So what else do you use it for?

  1. I know Amisha used to make Khajoor-Pak using microwave.

  2. If you are making a sandwich and need some quick baked potatoes then you can wet the potato, put it in a plastic grocery bag and microwave it.

I was pretty surprised to see potatoes being baked in this manner when I first saw it. 🙂

IMHO, the baked potato texture after microwave is not as good as the one from the pressure cooker. But chalta hai for a quick sandwich.

  3. Cooking in a plastic is not safe. Forget the cooking, some plastics are not safe for storage and/or one time use also.

It’s surprising how microwave has become such important appliance in our kitchens. As a child we all were never so exposed to microwave and now it’s very hard to stay without this easy & especially quick mode of cooking.

It’s certainly a bliss to have this gadget in our kitchen.
