For the past 2 years I was searching for a software which will do DJ like duties. My basic requirement was that i can set the start time and stop time of a song.
I did not find any good software. This year I started to use iTunes and was thrilled with its various capabilities.
a) You can set start and stop times of a song
b) You can cross-fade songs so that when the end of a song is near, the next song starts playing in parallel.
c) It also has the ability to make all songs at the same volume level.
Thus iTunes satisfies the basics of a simple DJ as long as you play it from the laptop.
If you want to play the song list from iPod then the only problem is that I have not found how to crossfade songs on the Ipod. IPod still respects the start and stop times that you have set but does not respect the crossfade option.
