Resources for hands-on science or other projects for kids

Has anyone used other websites like http://www.arvindguptatoys.com/toys.html ?

If you have used specific youtube videos or a very good book (with step-by-step instructions) then thats fine too. I am looking for some projects for Miloni

5 Comments:

  1. 1.Search amazon for “projects with kids”.
2.Google DIY with PVC. PCV pipes are ridiculously cheap, easily cut and managed.
    3. Google “DIY projects for kids”.
    4. Good old marble run: from minature ones using drinking straws to people sized with cut soda cans et al.
    5. Lilypad is really cool: https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/312
    6. Visit Halloween costume stores, and DIY one yourself
    7. Your neighborhood hobby store.

  2. Thanks Kalpendu. Sorry just saw this comment :). For some reason the auto email didn’t reach me.

  3. btw….as you come across a specific resource for a specific project that you did and worked well then do comment here or send me an email. It will be good to have a knowledgebase to reduce time for others to search (though I realize the searching itself is DIY approach and hence has benefits :))

  4. My artist cousin recommended this one:
    http://www.amazon.com/Art-Tinkering-Karen-Wilkinson/dp/1616286091/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408738682&sr=8-1&keywords=tinkering+arts
“Intersection of arts science and engineering”

Havent seen it but on searching for it on amazon, there was a trove of tinkering guide books. Sorry, no specific recos, i dont have a favorite one-there is simply too much to variety 🙂

  5. Thanks. This is precisely the right topic of interest for Miloni and me :). I will go through the reviews of it. In general, due to time constraints, I am looking for resources that have good instructions.
