Montalvo arts center- in bullets

• A 10 minute drive from Cupertino down a leafy Saratoga avenue
• A senators former house, a heavily wooded estate, that now hosts theaters, music festivals, art installations
• 3-4 gardens with interesting art installations, sculptors, fountains and trees.
• A few hiking trails, perfect for a short, couple of hour hike. Plenty of open space for kids to run around. Good restroom facilities.
• We went last week of December.
• Very sparsely crowded. Parking was not an issue. In Summer/Fall it may get crowded and parking may be an issue. Parking is free.
• Suggested hiking trail:
o Park at lot 3. Do the Lookout trail to the lookout point. Wooded and cool, stroller unfriendly. Very interesting views of the south bay.
o Can add lot of extra miles by rambling around.
• There are no picnic tables. They suggest ‘a light picnic on the front lawn’. We laid out a sheet on the grass for lunch.
• There are no restaurants.
• Can spend 5-6 hours.
• Fall and spring should spectacular riot of colors. A rain hike or a post rain when the visibility improves should be very good too.
• Lots of theater/music @ 20$ adult + 10$ kids ticket.
