Happy Ashadhi Beej Celebrations everyone !! Happy Kutchi New Year.
I don’t think Ashadhi Beej is celebrated much among Kutchis in general. I could be wrong. If you celebrate it what do you do usually? Prepare some unique “Kutchi” dish?
Since we are “Kutch”Valley we should do something as a group on occasion of Kutchi New Year every year. :-). If not this year, then next year for sure.
We make seero and offer to mataji to celebrate the Kutchi new year.
Tomorrow (Sat evening, Jul 18th) some of us are planning to meet at Nirvanaah Ice Cream, Sunnyvale at around 9pm to celebrate Ashadhi Beej. I will bring some Jalebis too. :-). Feel free to join.

I mostly cook sheero for Ashadi Beej and did the same today as well.
Ashadi Beej is celebrated with a kutchi community gathering in some parts of India – In Jalgaon we have a Kutchi dinner every year for Ashadi Beej, whereas Pune Kutchi Samaj has lunch get together.
Mostly it is sheera (traditonal kutchi ones darejo, moong dal etc ) or lapsi
Lapai ( sweet rice sweetened with jaggery) & tribhagi dal( moong, Chana & toor dal) with papad!!
