Happy International Coffee Day

Coffee Lovers – Happy International Coffee Day !

What is your favorite coffee flavor ? And like every chai lover, am sure that coffee lovers have their unique way of making coffee. Some like the froth more and some prefer a strong coffee. What is your perfect coffee ?

Are there any local coffee shops that you typically visit ?

One of my ex-colleagues used to love coffee @ Belano Coffee Shop on Stevens Creek and folks used to drive for a coffee meet there.

  1. A little more about International Coffee Day
It is an occasion that is used to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage, with events now occurring in places across the world. The first official date will be 1 October 2015, as agreed by the International Coffee Organization and will be launched in Milan. This day has also used to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness for the plight of the coffee growers. On this day, many businesses offer free or discounted cups of coffee. Some businesses share coupons and special deals with their loyal followers via social networking.
Different countries celebrated National Coffee Day on different days. It was September 29 in United States…..

Being a coffee lover…..a perfect cup of coffee means hot, strong and a coffee with lot of froth……..
I have a nescafe bottle and a coffee frother on my desk …..and now all my colleagues (Indians as well as non-Indians) are hooked on to it…..Everyone stops by at afternoon coffee time and borrows coffee powder and frother!

    I like Philz coffee……http://www.philzcoffee.com
Mint Mojito Iced coffee with sugar and cream…..is a perfect drink for an relaxed afternoon.

  2. Hazelnut is my preferred flavored coffee.
I have fond memories of Dunking Donuts Hazelnut coffee from New York/Boston days

  3. I use the aeropress, french press coffee maker at home with french roast beans, ground to espresso grind. This make decent coffee, sans sugar and milk. The coffee maker at office delivers a very weak coffee, so i use a 5$, single cup brewing cone with additional coffee to double distill the coffee.
    And espresso once a week.
    Prefer, peets beans.
I cannot stand the smell of stale coffee…stale as in 1-hour stale, even if it still in brewing pot and hot….
Interestingly, a collegue had a 1200$ espresso maker and once he sheepishly confided that he doesn’t taste much diffrence from a 200$ machine.

  4. There’s Nothing like waking up to A Shot of Expresso every morning ?? Coffee has always been my choice of drink, but I truly learned to enjoy a cup of java during our stay in Europe. No one makes French Press or Expresso like them ! I find cappuccinos and lattes in cafes around here to be light/not strong enough and milked down ! But, here are few places that I frequent ……
*Los Gatos Coffee Brewing Company-the drink of my choice Cafe Bravia – Expresso with Cream & dash of Orange rind ( the best )
*Chromatic makes Japanese style coffee drip ( best without cream)
*A quick stop at Peets for Almond Latte just because it’s convenient and accessible when in a rush !
*Each morning, it’s home-made Filter Coffee India style !
